Chief Technology Officer

Permanent employee, Full-time · London
Your mission
General tasks:
  • Direct strategic technical vision for the company, anticipate, plan and act on shifts in technology in the fields of cloud servicing, AI, machine learning, natural language processing, computational linguistics, and data science (not limited to data processing and encryption)
  • Be responsible for the delivery of all software, including velocity and quality, and own the product roadmap
  • Hire, manage, coach, engage, and motivate a team to execute the vision
  • Must take into consideration potential biases in ML model generation and account for it accordingly
  • Own recruiting and retention in the Product, Design and Engineering organization
  • Act as Data Protection Officer and be responsible for the security and privacy of our customers
  • Communicate the progress of the Product, Engineering and Design organization to the company Board and its investors
  • Represent the company at conferences, events and in front of clients and strategic partners in order to strengthen the corporate brand image
Your profile
Requirements:
  • 6+ years of experience managing high output teams using ML to solve complex problems for large-scale applications
  • Experience with modern machine learning libraries such as TensorFlow or Keras
  • Comfortable programming in at least two modern programming languages (Go and Python preferred)
  • Knowledge of Amazon Web Services or Google Cloud
  • Experience with large-scale systems architecture
  • Deep understanding of system performance and scaling
  • A clear vision of what a successful Product, Design and Engineering organisation looks like and how to achieve it
  • A broad set of interests that include a significant overlap with the company’s vision and mission
  • A maker spirit and a consistent history of delivering results with software
  • Capacity to work in a fast-paced, often-changing environment
  • Proven experience leading a productive team of engineers, preferably using Agile methodologies and Scrum-style reporting
  • Experience with Trello preferred
  • Entrepreneurial thinking and experience in business administration are desirable
